Ross Budden

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ross Budden, age 80 years, of Cobb’s Arm NL announce his passing at the Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Centre, Twillingate, NL on Monday, February 9, 2026.

Ross was born in Seldom, Fogo Island to the late Joseph and Gertie Budden and the eldest of ten children.  In 1972, he married Phyllis Blake of Cobb’s Arm, where they established their family and lived a traditional Newfoundland lifestyle rooted in faith, family, and hard work. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a man of strength, strong character and being a lifelong fisherman, a job that reflected his dedication, hard work and connection to the water.  

He is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Gertie Budden; his daughter Angela Pardy, his sister Edith Foss; brothers-in-law Harry Bixby & Guy Penney.

Left to mourn his passing are his loving wife, Phyllis Budden; his sons, Dennis (Elizabeth), Cory (Amanda); and son-in-law, Jeffrey Pardy. He is also remembered by his grandchildren, Brady Pardy, Autumn, Helana, Nathan Van Dommelen, and his great-grandson, Damian. Ross is further survived by his brothers; Uriel (Doris), Hayward (Alma), Kenneth (Sharon), Rodney (Beverly), Doyle (Judy); sisters Nellie (John), Verna, Sheila (Austin), along with a large number of extended relatives and friends who will fondly remember him.

Resting at the Gospel Light Pentecostal Tabernacle in Cobb’s Arm. A family visitation will take place from 2-4 pm and public visitation from 7-9pm on Thursday, February 12, 2025. The funeral service will take place on Friday, February 13, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Ings officiating.

Donations in Ross' memory may be given to Gospel Light Tabernacle, Cobb's Arm.
